Contact lenses may be divided into two main groups

GAS PERMEABLE

Among our patients there are those for which gas permeable are more suitable.
The reasons generally being

• High degrees of short or long sight
• High astigmatism
• Progressive lenses where soft lenses are not suitable
• Irregular corneas e.g. Kerataconus

SOFT LENSES

The majority of soft lenses are dispensed either as frequent replacement (monthly or two weekly) or daily disposable. They are soft and pliable, extremely comfortable and have a short adaptation period. They are especially useful for sporting activities.
