With the very latest advances in technology, we are able to offer all our patients the ultimate in contact lens comfort and convenience to suit your lifestyle.

As well as fitting conventional contact lenses we specialise in more complicated or unusual prescriptions including working closely with Frimley Park Hospital Ophthalmic department. We successfully fit contact lenses to corneas with keratoconus, post laser complications, pellucid marginal degeneration and corneal grafts.

We have a corneal topographer to give a precise contour map of the cornea, which shows in detail the precise shape of the surface. We can therefore get a much more accurate and comfortable lens fit.

We can provide a same day service and provide a professional aftercare service.

Contact lenses may be divided into three main groups:

Gas permeable
Among our patients there are those for which gas permeable lenses are more suitable.

The reasons generally being:

High degrees of short or long sight
High astigmatism
Progressive lenses where soft lenses are not suitable
Irregular corneas e.g. Keratoconus
soft lenses

The majority of soft lenses are dispensed either as frequent replacement (monthly or two weekly) or daily disposable. They are soft and pliable, extremely comfortable and have a short adaptation period. They are especially useful for sporting activities.

Specialist Contact Lenses

Hybrid Contact Lenses eg Synergeyes

Hybrid contact lenses combine a rigid gas permeable (RGP) centre with a soft silicone hydrogel skirt, offering the superior visual clarity of hard lenses and the comfort of soft lenses. They are primarily used for irregular corneas, such as keratoconus, high astigmatism, and post-surgical eyes, by providing stability and comfort.

Semi Scleral Lenses eg, ICD, Time XL and Zenlens

These are large diameter typically 12.5 to 16.50 mm diameter rigid gas permeable lenses designed to vault over the entire cornea and rest on the sclera (white of the eye). They offer superior comfort and stability, making them an ideal alternative for keratoconus, severe dry eye (due to the fluid reservoir between the lens and the cornea) and post surgical corneal ectasia.
